How does eTuning work?

At Evans Tuning we are continuously making eTuning easier for everyone to understand. The eTuning process is very detailed and in-depth for us, but really simple for all of our customers. We understand that it's nice to know what we are focusing on behind the scenes, and what to expect before you get started.

Step 1: Purchase an eTune.

Visit our online store and purchase your eTune. We ask for a detailed set of information to help us get you started quickly. We also need to know as much as possible about your car so we can provide an accurate calibration to start with. Buy Now >

Step 2: Check your email.

All of our eTuning is done via email, so make sure you use an email address you have easy access to. We will send you a starting calibration and complete instructions within 1 business day.

Step 3: Upload and drive.

Once you have your new or updated calibration, you need to upload it to your car. We will provide you with a list of datalog requests that are necessary to complete the next step in the eTuning process.

Not sure how to upload your calibration?

Hondata has provided plenty of tutorials on how to do this. Whether you have KPro or FlashPro you can visit the Hondata site and watch a video to learn how it's done.

Step 4: Send in datalogs.

After you have driven the car around and recorded datalogs, it's time to send them back to Evans Tuning. We will review your logs and make changes to the calibration we have on file for your car. The process will continue with steps 2 through 4 until your car is completely eTuned.

What does Evans Tuning focus on during eTuning?

Fuel Maps

Our goal is to provide you with the best fuel economy and perfect air/fuel ratios. With careful analysis, your fuel maps will be completely optimized during idle, partial throttle, and full throttle driving conditions.

Timing Maps

Ignition timing is often times overlooked and can safely create significant power increases. We are able to find that hidden power, while carefully keeping your engine safe from the damaging effects of knock.

Cam Angles

Fuel economy, throttle response, midrange, and top end power are all affected by cam angle tuning. For the best possible driving experience, we focus on creating a custom cam angle map for your individual modifications.

Safety and Reliability

With 1000's of cars tuned in house to date, our library of calibration files is very extensive.  This means you start off with a safe and reliable base calibration, that has been thoroughtly tested and proven.
