Basics |
Question: How do I get started?Answer: The best place to start is by visiting our "How It Works" page and learning about the eTuning process. |
Question: Where do I buy eTuning?Answer: You can purchase eTuning on our online store. Be sure to fill out the information we request thoroughly so that we can provide the best starting point for your car. |
Question: How long do I have to wait before my eTuning starts?Answer: eTuning usually takes no longer than 1 business day to begin. If it has been longer than 1 business day, check your junk mail folder to make sure your email provider did not mark our initial eTune email as junk. |
Question: How long is the complete eTuning Process going to take?Answer: It's hard to answer this question because each individual setup is different. Some cars can be finished with only a few revisions, while other cars can take over a dozen. The time frame will also depend on the speed in which datalogs are sent back to Evans Tuning. |

Why eTuning |
Question: How do I know that eTuning is right for me?Answer: eTuning works very well for basic bolt-on performance modifications such as intake, header, exhaust, mild camshafts, larger injectors, supercharger and mild turbocharger boost levels (up to 10-12 psi range). |
Question: Is Dyno Tuning still a better idea?Answer: Dyno Tuning is a tool to extract the full power potential from your engine. While on the dyno we can see exactly how the engine responds to changes, and find the perfect operating range for fuel, ignition and cam angle mapping for full throttle driving. An eTune will get the engine within 90% of its power potential in most cases. |
Question: Do I need to Dyno Tune after my eTuning is complete?Answer: For a basic bolt-on combination or supercharger a dyno tune is often times not needed. Because we have developed so many calibrations in house for a huge range of bolt-on applications, you get those dyno proven calibrations to start from on your eTune. We often times know what works for the tune on your car without having the car on our dyno. |

Calibrations and Datalogs |
Question: What is a calibration?Answer: A calibration is a file sent between you and Evans Tuning that contains all of the tuning information for your car. |
Question: What is a datalog?Answer: A datalog is a file that is created with the engine management system to give us information while the car is running in certain conditions. With that information we makes changes to the calibration to optimize it to your car with your driving habits and driving conditions. |
Question: How do I get my first calibration?Answer: After the eTune is purchased we will email you a base calibration to upload to your car. The base calibration will be a good starting point for your individual modifications. |
Question: Where can I learn about uploading calibrations?Answer: Hondata has provided in-depth videos explaining the process. Visit their site for explainations on uploading calibrations for both FlashPro and KPro systems. |
Question: How do I create datalogs?Answer: Hondata has provided in-depth videos explaining the process. Visit their site for explainations on datalongging for both FlashPro and KPro systems. |

Tuning |
Question: What do you focus on when eTuning a car?Answer: We focus on the entire package for tuning; performance, fuel economy and safety. It's possible to have good fuel economy and performance on the same calibration file, which we prefer to do. Our eTunes are done with your engine's safety in mind, we only go as far with the tuning as your engine safely allows. |
Question: Should I be able to feel a difference in performance from eTuning?Answer: Yes. You will feel a performance gain in midrange and top end power, as well as overall smoother driving car. |
