Dyno Tuning Policies
What you need to know before your appointment.
- No smoking is permitted inside the shop. You are welcome to smoke outside.
- Absolutely no one is allowed near the vehicle while dyno is operating. This is for your safety and ours.
- Please do not help yourself to tools, unless otherwise given permission.
Retunes are only applicable to ORIGINAL client who was tuned by Evans Tuning. If you purchase a car previously tuned by us, and are not the original owner/client the retune fee will not be honored. If you were tuned at another shop, and want us to tune the car a new tuning rate would apply. In addition, the appointment is only considered a retune if you are using the same system. Clients switching from one system to another will be charged the new tuning fee.
Tuning fees do not include race gas. Evans Tuning DOES NOT stock race gas. If you want a race gas or E85 tune, you will need to bring your own fuel. If tune on e85 for flex fuel, we suggest bringing 10-15 gallons.
Engine Damage Notice
If you are tuned on a particular type of race gas, you MUST run that same type of race gas when you run your race gas tune. I tune the car specific to the fuel that is being used. If you run a different fuel, engine damage can and will occur!
We recommend having at least one extra set for a tuning appointment. We stock limited quantities, and may not have your particular spark plug part number available. Subarus please make sure your spark plugs are changed before the tuning appointment, we will not change spark plugs during a tuning session as its too labor intensive to do so on the dyno.
Engine Break In
This consists of 5-10 miles of variable loading while under partial throttle and boost conditions to seat the rings while keeping air/fuel ratios under an optimal level. Several compression and leak down tests are preform during the course of the break-in to ensure that the rings are seating properly. We charge an additional $150.00 for an engine break in during the tuning session.
Please be advised that the tuning fee does not include the cost of labor if something needs to be fixed on your car.
- Labor - $150/hour
- Welding - $175/hour + materials
